I Saved Myself

No permission needed
No one else to blame
I found my own direction
And changed the game

Woke up with a dream
A fire in my chest
They told me to wait
But I knew what was best

I built my own road
I found my own way
Turned all my doubts
Into strength every day

I was lost in the crowd
Now I'm standing proud
I can feel the power
Getting stronger now

I saved myself!
I found my way!
I took control!
of my life today!

I saved myself!
I broke away!
I found my strength!
and I’m here to stay!

I watched others shine
While I stood behind
But I changed my thinking
And opened my mind

No more looking back
No more standing still
I make my own choices
With my own free will

I was lost in the crowd
Now I'm standing proud
I can feel the power
Getting stronger now

I saved myself!
I found my way!
I took control!
of my life today!

I saved myself!
I broke away!
I found my strength!
and I’m here to stay!

Every scar tells a story
Every fall taught me why
I don't need permission
To spread my wings and fly

I made my own future
I found my own light
I saved myself
And I got it right

I saved myself!
I found my way!
I took control!
of my life today!

I saved myself!
I broke away!
I found my strength!
and I’m here to stay!

I saved myself
I found my way
And I'm here to stay
